webOS事業を殺したのはそのソフトウェアではない。『The Next Web』が伝えたところによると、HP社のwebOSチームは、米Apple社の『iPad 2』をハッキングして同ソフトウェアを動作させることに成功したのだが、iPad 2上では、TouchPad上よりwebOSが2倍以上速く動いたというのだ。

開発チームがさらに、iPadの『Mobile Safari』ブラウザ内にwebOSを配備したところ、結果として同じような高速化が起こったという。
